An important visit across the ocean

President Andrzej Duda meets with US President Joe Biden this week.

On Monday, President Andrzej Duda flew to the United States. Today, on Tuesday, together with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, he met with President Joe Biden. This meeting was scheduled exactly on the 25th anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO.


The agenda of the talks includes a discussion on the current situation of NATO, Ukraine's future membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, further cooperation and arms purchases in the USA.


White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said the leaders would reaffirm support for Ukraine's defense. At the meeting, the leaders of Poland and the United States will also hold consultations before the July NATO summit in Washington.


A meeting of the Polish president with the leaders of Republicans and Democrats in Congress took place on Monday.


After his visit to the USA, on Thursday, President Andrzej Duda will visit NATO Headquarters in Brussels and meet with the Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg.
