"Bread and Salt" is the winner of the 12th edition of the Script Fiesta festival

"Bread and Salt" by Damian Kocur is the main winner of the Script Fiesta film festival 2024. The film, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was appreciated by the Jury in the category of best screenplay for a made film.

The script of the film "Bread and Salt" by Damian Kocur was appreciated by the jury of the Script Fiesta festival. The committee, composed of: Olga Tokarczuk, Jerzy Skolimowski, Maciej Ślesicki, Małgorzata Szumowska, Paweł Maślona, Tomasz Habowski and Kaja Krawczyk-Wnuk, decided to award the Kocur` script (with the script's cooperation with Marta Konarzewska). The author of the script received a prize of PLN 50,000, which, according to the organizers, is the highest award for screenwriters in Poland. Its founder is the Warsaw Film School, the organizer of the festival.



During the gala, which took place on Sunday, April 21, the following were also awarded: Marta Bacewicz for the concept of the series "Serca mam dwa" (prize of PLN 20,000) and Dawid Misiorny for the script for the music video "Gad" from the repertoire of Monika Brodka ( PLN 20 thousand).


The festival partners also awarded their awards:

– Audioteka – award for the audio script concept and PLN 5,000 – Marta Michalak for the project "Sekstoria" and Natalia Anduła for the project "Bezsenne noce, senne dni” (Sleepless nights, sleepy days)

– Script Atelier – award for Przemysław Jurek for the project "Incydent w Emilcinie: (Incident in Emilcin)

– No Drama – award for the series script concept – Ola Hulbój for the project "Wciąż tu jesteśmy: (We're Still Here)

– Crew United – award for the series script concept Marta Bacewicz for the project "Serva mam dwa” (I have two hearts) and Sylwia Zielińska and Michał Łukowicz for the project "Dwa pogrzeby Antoniego Fabera” (Two funerals of Antoni Faber).


“This year's edition of the festival showed us how necessary conversations around screenplay topics are. We distributed over 11,000 free entry tickets on the events we have organized. The attendance hits were the "Pocahontas" screening and a conversation with Philip LaZabnik, the Music Video Night and a panel about adapting Tyrmand. I am happy and proud of the audience's response," revealed Artur Zaborski, artistic director of the festival.


The 12th edition of the Script Fiesta Film Festival took place on April 18-21. During the festival, viewers and listeners were treated to panels, workshops and film screenings. The festival guests included: Katarzyna Figura, Natasza Parzymies, Ilona Łepkowska, Marianna Zydek, Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska, Krzysztof Gureczny, Gabriela Łazarkiewicz-Sieczko, Kinga Dębska and Piotr Domalewski.


Workshops and master lectures as part of the festival were co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
