Bielansky Express returns after 9 years
A train journey with a view of the Tatras is an extraordinary attraction in itself. The seasonal connection from Muszyna to Poprad returns this coming weekend, bringing with it a lot of joy for passengers.
The Beliansky Express, operating on the Muszyna-Poprad route, returned to the tracks in 2019 after a break of almost nine years. The decision to restore this connection was aimed at making travel easier for passengers, promoting both regions and reviving tourist traffic. Since its re-launch, the seasonal connection has become an extraordinary hit, as confirmed by an online petition in which Poles and Slovaks demanded the introduction of a year-round, daily connection on this route. Although this has not happened yet, it will be possible to enjoy a trip to the Tatras again this coming weekend, opening the summer season.
The Beliansky Express from Muszyna to Poprad will run on Saturdays and Sundays from June 1 to September. The train will leave Muszyna at 10:01 and 18:01, while it will leave Poprad at 7:29 and 15:29. The journey takes less than two hours.
On its way, the train will stop at the following stations: Plavec, Stara Lubovna, Podolinec, Spisska Bela, Kezmarok and St. Potok. A ticket for the entire route from Muszyna to Poprad costs five euros (approximately PLN 21.50), according to the price list of Koleje Małopolskie.
Artur Królikowski, a railway employee from Muszyna, notes that another year of travel on this train is also an opportunity to discover attractions in neighboring regions. Poprad, where the train stops, impresses with, among other things, its market square surrounded by baroque and classicist buildings, as well as the Aquacity Poprad water park, which will certainly interest fans of water attractions.
Each of the cities through which the Beliansky Express passes is a great option for a day trip from Poland, offering a wealth of attractions and unforgettable views.
