Ernest Bryll passed away

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Ernest Bryll died at home in the presence of his loved ones. The poet was born on 1st of March, 1935 in Warsaw.

Ernest Bryll is one of the greatest songwriters. Known mainly for the libretto for the album "Kolęda Nocka", Bryll left indelible traces in the history of Polish music. His work is an integral part of Poland's cultural heritage, and his words have touched the hearts of millions of listeners around the world.


Master of words in Polish music

One of the most famous projects that Ernest Bryll worked on was the album "Kolęda Nocka". This masterpiece was created in the atmosphere of the August 1980 strikes on the Coast, and its premiere took place on 18th December, 1980 at the Musical Theater in Gdynia. The music for this performance was composed by Wojciech Trzciński, and directed by Krzysztof Bukowski.


One of the most memorable songs from this album is "Psalm of those standing in line", in which the voice was given by the wonderful Krystyna Prońko.


For years, Ernest Bryll wrote for the most outstanding Polish artists, creating texts that became an integral part of their repertoire. His career dated back to 1965, when he began delivering his musical poetry to a wider audience. His songs were performed by such outstanding artists as 2 plus 1, Enigmatic, Myslovitz, Skaldowie, as well as outstanding soloists, including Michał Bajor, Stan Borys, and the legend of Polish music - Marek Grechuta. Moreover, his achievements include cooperation with artists such as Jerzy Grunwald, Edward Hulewicz, and Halina Kunicka, as well as Daniel Olbrychski, who was not only an outstanding actor, but also a versatile musical artist.


Ernest Bryll passed away, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Polish music. His texts are an example of master craftsmanship and deep reflection on human fate, which continues to move and inspire. His departure left millions of fans not only longing for his talent, but also grateful for what he gave to the world. His words will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those who love Polish music and beautiful poetry.
