The tourism industry has recovered well after the Covid-19 crisis and related travel restrictions. Southern European countries such as Spain, Italy and France are particularly looking forward to a very busy, if not record, summer.
The data confirms these expectations. In 2023, the number of visitors to Portugal, Italy, Spain and France exceeded the number of tourists from the pre-pandemic period. France recorded an increase of 7.8%, Italy 4.4% and Spain 2.0% compared to the last year before the pandemic.
