The Czech portal "Hospodarzske Noviny" reported that LOT Polish Airlines is interested in purchasing Smartwings. However, this information is not confirmed by the president of the Polish carrier. "He will not comment on reports or press speculations," said Michał Fijoł, president of PLL LOT.

If the transaction was completed, it would significantly strengthen LOT's position in our part of Europe.

SunExpress from Turkey is also interested in buying the Czech airline. The Turks plan to expand their reach to European airports, and Prague fits their strategy.
