The National Heritage Institute, which was created from the merger of the National Heritage Institute and the National Institute for the Conservation of Monuments, has already started its operation. It is a new cultural institution.

It`s the decision of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, which led to the consolidation of the units. Marlena Happach was appointed acting director of the new institution. The tasks of the Institute include, among others, defining and promoting standards for the protection and conservation of monuments, collecting and popularizing knowledge about cultural heritage, as well as conducting scientific and research activities related to cultural heritage.
