On August 9, 1920, Kazimierz Sosnkowski became the Minister of Military Affairs

Kazimierz Sosnkowski, alias Baca, Godziemba, Józef, Józef Godziemba, Ryszard, Szef (born November 19, 1885 in Warsaw, died October 11, 1969 in Arundel, Canada) – Polish military commander and politician, independence activist, from 1936 Lieutenant General of the Polish Army.

Initially in the Polish Socialist Party and its Combat Organization, founder of the Union of Active Struggle, chief of staff of the 1st Brigade of the Polish Legions, deputy minister (1919–1920), minister of military affairs (1920–1924). Representative of Poland in the League of Nations (1925), commander of the Southern Front during the September Campaign of 1939. Successor of the President of the Republic of Poland, minister without portfolio in the government of General Władysław Sikorski in exile (1939–1940), commander-in-chief of the Union of Armed Struggle (1939–1941), Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces (1943–1944), chairman of the Committee of Ministers for National Affairs from 8 November 1939, member of the authorities of the Society for the Development of Eastern Lands, sports activist. Kazimierz Sosnkowski was the Minister of Military Affairs from 9 August 1920 to 10 March 1922 in the governments of Wincenty Witos and Antoni Ponikowski, from 10 March to 28 June 1922 he held the position of Head of the Ministry of Military Affairs in Ponikowski's government, then from 28 June 1922 to 28 May 1923 he was again a minister in the governments of Artur Śliwiński, Julian Nowak and Władysław Sikorski.
