Opening of the Polish House in Paris with the participation of the President of the Republic of Poland

In Paris, the President of the Republic of Poland took part in the opening of the Polish House, which is to serve white and red athletes, media representatives and fans during the beginning of the Olympic Games.

For the first time during the Olympic Games, we have the Polish House, for which I am very grateful. This is a special place where Poland, the history of the Polish Olympic movement and Polish sport will be presented - said Andrzej Duda.


During the ceremony, another group of Polish athletes took the oath. The President presented them with Olympic nominations.


In his speech, Andrzej Duda emphasized that the Olympic Games are the most important sporting event and the most important moment in the life of a professional athlete. - It is a great dream of everyone who has bet on sport in their life to take part in the games, let alone win a medal - said Andrzej Duda. The President recalled that the Polish team first took part in the Olympic Games exactly one hundred years ago - in 1924. At that time, the Olympic competition was also held in July in France. He emphasized that so far, Poles have won 298 medals at the Summer Olympics. He expressed hope that during this year's competition, the Polish team will significantly exceed the three hundred medal mark.


We keep our fingers crossed for you, for the performance of everyone from the youngest, who are taking their first steps at the Olympic Games, to the most experienced, who have already stood on the podium many times. We hope that you will be able to listen to Dąbrowski's Mazurka here. Thank you for everything you have done to be here in Paris. I hope that you will return to Poland happy - said the President.


Andrzej Duda is accompanied by Minister Marcin Mastalerek and Advisors Rafał Kos and Piotr Nowacki.
