The railway operator's financial result is the worst in many years
Last year, the company suffered a net loss of PLN 937 million. A year earlier, the company recorded a net profit of PLN 173 million.
The main reason for such a poor financial result was the need to take into account the costs related to investment claims.
As stated in the company's announcement, "in 2023, PLK SA had to recognize costs of approximately PLN 1 billion, mainly due to claims submitted by contractors in 2022 and earlier. These costs were not included in the financial results in previous years. The total value of claims made by investment contractors against PLK SA is currently over PLN 7 billion.
