Polish jewels in the UNESCO crown

Our country's impressive cultural and natural heritage undoubtedly constitutes a significant contribution to the European and world natural and cultural heritage. In Poland, you will be amazed by as many as 17 various properties included on the UNESCO World Heritage List (15 cultural heritage sites and 2 natural heritage sites). These facilities and places are very diverse and everyone will find something for themselves.


These include very famous and appreciated entire complexes of monuments, such as old towns and historical city centers (old towns of Krakow, Warsaw, Toruń and Zamość), unique underground facilities (Royal Salt Mines in Wieliczka and Bochnia, Lead, Silver and Zinc Ore Mine in Tarnowskie Mountains, Krzemionkowski region of prehistoric striped flint mining), religious buildings and complexes (Kalwaria Zebrzydowska: a Mannerist architectural and landscape complex with a pilgrimage park, Churches of Peace in Jawor and Świdnica, Wooden churches of southern Małopolska, Wooden Orthodox churches in the Carpathian region), parks (Mużakowski Park ), castles (Teutonic Castle in Malbork) and contemporary architecture (Centennial Hall in Wrocław). This extraordinary cultural heritage is undoubtedly enriched by two natural properties included on the UNESCO World Heritage List (the Białowieża Forest and the Ancient and Primordial Beech Forests of the Carpathians). There's plenty to choose from!


All these properties are very diverse and certainly worth discovering. Their location on the map of Poland also allows you to get to know other interesting and exceptionally attractive places in our country, both cultural, historical and natural, as well as those providing opportunities for rest and relaxation after intense sightseeing.
