Polish NO for the euro

Poles do not want a common European currency

According to the latest survey, over two thirds of respondents (exactly 66.8%) are against the liquidation of the zloty (49.9% of respondents answered "definitely not" and 17.4% of respondents answered "rather not").


In the survey, 27.3% people were in favor of adopting the euro. percent (14.3% "definitely yes" and 13% "probably yes"). Almost 6% respondents did not have a specific opinion on this matter.


The study shows that significant groups of opponents of the euro in Poland are found both among the electorates of the opposition parties - Law and Justice and Confederation, as well as the groups that are part of the government: Civic Coalition, Third Way and the Left.

"Among the government's supporters, only 37% of respondents support the conversion of the zloty into the euro. 17% answered definitely yes and 20% answered rather yes," reports Wirtualna Polska.


52% of respondents expressed their opposition to replacing the Polish zloty with a common European currency. supporters of the current ruling team, of which 35% chose the answer "definitely not". respondents, and 12% - "I don't think so".


Among opposition supporters, only 1% answered "definitely yes" to the euro. respondents. "As many as 95% of opposition supporters were against replacing the zloty with the euro. That's 17% of opposition voters who answered rather no and 78% of them who answered definitely no. Only 1% of opposition supporters have no opinion on this matter " – reports wp.pl.


The cash euro was introduced into circulation on 1 January 2002. The currency was introduced in most European Union member states to replace national currencies. It is also used in 11 countries and territories that are not part of the Community.


Currently, the euro is legal tender in 20 countries that make up the euro area in the European Union, which covers approximately 341 million Europeans.


The United Surveys survey commissioned by the Wirtualna Polska portal was conducted on March 8-10, 2024 using combined CATI and CAWI (50/50) methods on a group of 1,000 adult Poles.
