President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda in China

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, met with the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, at the Grand Palace of the People in Beijing. The talks between the two leaders lasted over four hours, and several bilateral agreements were signed in their presence. – This visit is very important to me also in a symbolic sense – building relations between Poland and China – emphasized Andrzej Duda.

– After talking to me, President Xi Jinping declared that Poles will have visa-free travel to China - anyone who wants to arrive on time for up to 15 days, i.e. primarily for tourist or economic or business purposes, will be able to do so without visas – said Andrzej Duda during a media briefing.


– These procedures have already been launched, so we can expect that visa-free travel will become a fact in the coming days. This is what usually happens in practice after such a clear declaration made by President Xi Jinping, he announced.


The president pointed out that the bilateral agreements concluded regarding the export of Polish food to China are probably "the largest in history." – By the end of the year, we will have regionalization when it comes to selling poultry – he emphasized.


At the beginning of the plenary talks between the delegations of both countries, the President of the Republic of Poland recalled that he paid his first visit to China in 2015, shortly after he took over as the President of the Republic of Poland. – It was my first time in China and I was welcomed very hospitably. And, what was very important to me then, I participated in Poland's accession to cooperation with China as part of the great idea of ​​the Belt and Road, which I then perceived and still perceive as a huge development opportunity in the economic sense and in the sense of building interpersonal ties between China and Europe , and from my point of view, as the President of Poland, primarily in building relations between China and Poland - Andrzej Duda emphasized.


Andrzej Duda emphasized that the current visit contributes to further building relations between Poland and China. – I hope that these relationships will also be built in the future. Mr. President, I hope that they will always be based on common ideals, he said to Xi Jinping, recalling that this year our countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishing official relations.


These are good diplomatic relations, good political relations, good interpersonal relations, based on mutual respect. They have always been like this, they are and I hope they will always be like this - emphasized the President.


– I am very happy that thanks to - which is a great honor for me - that the President calls me a friend, I can contribute to building these relations - Andrzej Duda emphasized.


Five bilateral agreements were signed in the presence of the President of the Republic of Poland and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China.


The signed documents included an important agreement on the work plan for the designation of zones and regionalization in relation to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) - assuming that one HPAI outbreak will not exclude the entire Polish poultry market from exports.


Agreements were also signed on promoting bilateral trade cooperation and on promoting two-way investment cooperation, as well as on inspection and quarantine requirements for beans exported from Poland to China and on the development of a Sino-Polish and Polish-Chinese dictionary.
