Poland must take better care of its climate goals.


Poland and Bulgaria are to "increase their ambition" in line with the agreed EU targets for 2030, says the European Commission, which has assessed the draft updated national energy and climate plans (NECP).

Poland declares an increase to 29.8%. share of renewable energy sources (RES) in final gross energy consumption. NECPs translate the EU's overall climate goals - the European Green Deal - into specific commitments and actions at the level of member states. Their implementation is expected to reduce total net greenhouse gas emissions in the Community by at least 55%. by 2030. This requirement was included in the "Fit for 55" legislative package.


Member States are required to submit their final updated national climate change plans by 30 June, taking into account the Commission's recommendations and individual assessments.
