The campaign before the local government elections has started on radio and television

 Election spots will be broadcast until 5th of April

Since Saturday, March 23, the Polish Television and Polish Radio, taken over by the usurpers, have been broadcasting election spots in the free airtime allocated to committees running in local government elections. The last election broadcasts will be published on Friday 5th of April.


In the national media, 15 hours on TVP and 20 hours on Polish Radio are to be divided between six committees running in council elections, PAP reports.


The following committees are entitled to broadcast the spots free of charge: Koalicja Obywatelska, Law and Justice, Trzecia Droga Polska 2050 Szymon Hołownia - Polish People's Party, Konfederacja i Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy, Lewica, "Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy" Association.


These are the committees that have registered lists of candidates in at least half of the districts for elections to all voivodeship assemblies, including at least one list for each assembly.


Free programs of election committees will be broadcast on TVP1 and TVP2 and in every regional program. The spots will be broadcast every day in blocks of no less than 10 minutes. On TVP1 -  from 6 to 10 and from 4 to 11 p.m.; on TVP2 from 6 to 9 and from 14.30 to 17.55.


On Polish Radio, election spots will be broadcast in four nationwide programs: Jedynka, Dwójka, Trójka and Polskie Radio 24 every day from 6th of May to 10th and from 22nd of May to 23rd of May - also in blocks of no less than 10 minutes.Other electoral committees running for council seats will be able to broadcast their spots in regional programs (a total of 15 hours on TV and 20 hours on the radio). Each committee that has registered a list in at least one electoral district: the commune council, the district council or the provincial assembly has the right to broadcast the spot.


Broadcasts from these committees will be broadcast on regional television from Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in blocks of election broadcasts no shorter than 25 minutes. On Saturdays and Sundays, the spots will be broadcast at from 7 to 9, from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in blocks of election broadcasts no shorter than 10 minutes.


In the case of regional radio, broadcasts of committees running for council positions will be broadcast mainly at from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 10 p.m.The committees that put forward their candidates in the elections of commune, mayor and city president also have airtime in regional media (2 hours on each regional television and 4 hours on each regional radio).In this case, the spots will appear on regional television primarily from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 7 to 11 p.m.


However, on regional radios they will be broadcast mainly from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from from 6 to 10 p.m. In addition to free broadcasting, electoral committees may broadcast their spots for a fee.


The campaign will end at midnight from 5th of April Friday, to Saturday, 6th of April; then the electoral silence begins.


The local elections will be held on 7th of April. The second round of elections for commune head, mayor and city president will take place on 21st of April.
