This is the largest road investment in the Łódź Province in Kutno County and a response to the requests of residents. Provincial road no. 583 in Żychlin will be rebuilt up to the province border with Mazovia.

"Today this section is dramatically narrow, it is the narrowest section of a provincial road in the entire Łódź province, it is only 4 meters wide. We will change it, it will be safer"

Road to modernization
Currently, provincial road no. 583 on the section from the intersection with Łukasińskiego Street to the border of the province does not meet technical parameters. In some places, the width of the roadway is only 4 meters, while the regulations require 7 meters. In addition, the surface of this section is in poor technical condition.
"The day the Provincial Roads Authority signed the agreement for the implementation of this reconstruction (4th of June 2024) is a historic date, because no local government has ever carried out such an important road investment in Żychlin"
- emphasizes the Marshal. "Drivers and pedestrians will be safe, and that is the most important thing".
Scope of works
The planned works include not only the expansion of the road itself, but also the construction of two roundabouts, sidewalks, a bicycle path, exits with covered ditches, bus and parking bays, road ditches, storm sewerage, road culvert, drainage ditch and lighting. The reconstruction of the technical infrastructure is also planned, including power and telecommunications networks, water supply network, sanitary sewage system and gas network.
Project implementation
The contractor of the "Expansion of provincial road no. 583 and 573 Bedlno - Żychlin - province border - stage II, section Żychlin - province border" is STRABAG from Pruszków. The value of the task is over PLN 28 million. The works will start soon and will be completed in 2025. The investment will be co-financed from the funds of the Regional Program European Funds for Łódzkie 2021-2027.
Improving road infrastructure
Another important road investment in Kutno County was completed at the beginning of 2024 – the reconstruction of the intersection of road 583 in nearby Dobrzelin. A new asphalt surface and new sidewalks appeared there, and the construction of a roundabout in this small town smoothed traffic and significantly increased the level of safety for both pedestrians and drivers.
"New sidewalks were built along the same provincial road in Bedlno (near national road no. 92 and a grocery discount store)"
– adds Rafał Jóźwiak, director of the Infrastructure Department of the Marshal's Office of the Łódź Province.
"The road connecting Bedlno with Żychlin is becoming increasingly modern and safer".
