The president talked to protesting farmers

President Andrzej Duda received representatives of farmers who protested in the Sejm at the Presidential Palace. The conversation on the part of the KPRP was attended by: Deputy Head of the Chancellery Piotr Ćwik and Minister Wojciech Kolarski.

The President - at the request of farmers - decided to include a representative of the protesters in the Council for Agriculture and Rural Areas of the NRR - informed Minister Cycling at a later briefing. He also announced a meeting of a broader representation of protesting farmers with members of this Council.


– The doors to the Presidential Palace are always open – emphasized Wojciech Kolarski.


The Minister recalled that last week the President, who was in the Sejm during the speech of the Minister of National Defense, also talked to protesting farmers. After this meeting, the farmers stopped their protest.


– Today's meeting began with thanks from the farmers for the fact that the President showed respect for the protesters and showed that for him the issues of the Polish countryside and Polish agriculture are very important. And in fact, it resulted in the end of this dramatic protest in the Sejm after two weeks - said Wojciech Kolarski. He added that farmers "expressed bitterness" that Prime Minister Donald Tusk did not meet with them.


In a morning conversation on RMF FM, Minister Wojciech Kolarski emphasized that the doors to the Presidential Palace are always open to those who need support and help.


– Today's meeting is the result of a meeting in the Sejm – said the Minister. – The president met the protesters, showed them respect and the protest was stopped. The President also invited the protesters to the Palace, he added. The minister emphasized that "the President knows farmers' problems perfectly, he respects Polish farmers, he invited them because they asked to present the reason for this dramatic protest."
