The role of pro-defense organizations in the state security system is the subject of the Security and Defense Council meeting.

The meeting of the Security and Defense Council was devoted to the role of pro-defense organizations in the state security system with an emphasis on population protection - said Professor Przemysław Żurawski vel Gajewski, Chairman of the Council, during a press briefing.

Representatives of over 20 organizations were gathered, including the National Defense League, Polish Red Cross, ZHP and ZHR, shooting organizations, regional organizations working for defense, who submitted a number of comments and postulates to the currently debated parliamentary act on population protection, which is to legally regulate the area of state responsibility. Disputed issues concern the principles of using pro-defense organizations and non-governmental organizations of a pro-defense nature. Representatives of various organizations present at the council pointed to the need to unify and coordinate the use of these resources, taking into account three separate states: the state of peace, the state of war and the state of crisis.


There is a need for legal regulations in the field of insurance, also in the field of the use of teams, not only individuals, in the field of state responsibility for managing the resources provided - said Professor Przemysław Żurawski vel Gajewski, Chairman of the Council, during a press briefing. - Representatives of pro-defense organizations indicated a certain dissatisfaction that in this draft act on the protection of the population, there are few references to pro-defense organizations. It is not too late to introduce some elements to the act - added Krzysztof Pobuta, member of the Council for Security and Defense.
